Zodiac signs of Outer Banks characters
John B. Routledge: Leo
John B. is a Leo, and his sign is definitely one of the most noticeable ones in the group. He’s outgoing and confident, and he loves being the center of attention, just like a Leo. Leos are also natural-born leaders, and John B. is the leader of The Pogues. He’s the one who comes up with their plans, and his passion and enthusiasm make him a brilliant leader. The other Pogues look up to John B.
Leos are also very creative, which we can see in John B. He often finds clever ways to get out of tricky situations and always come up with ingenious ideas. He’s also very loyal and is willing to risk his life for the gold and his friends. Leo is a fixed sign, which means that John B. is usually pretty set in his ways and can be stubborn at times. We saw this when he refused to stop chasing the gold even though it caused them lots of problems. But John B. is also a generous and loving friend, and he’s always up for a good time. He’s an all-around loyal leader who will never give up on his friends. His independence, optimism, and courage make him the perfect Leo.
Sarah Cameron: Gemini
Sarah Cameron is a Gemini. Geminis are known for being adaptable and resourceful, and Sarah definitely fits that bill. She’s able to think on her feet and come up with solutions to problems quickly. She also loves adventures, and she’s always game for anything, whether it’s exploring the island or going on a treasure hunt with John B and The Pogues.
Geminis are known for being chatty and social, which can be said for Sarah Cameron. She is outgoing and friendly, and people are drawn to her easygoing nature. She’s also a great listener, which helps her to make friends and get people to open up to her. Geminis are notorious for their duality, which is fitting for Sarah Cameron, who is from a rich family and originally a Kook. But now is a free-spirited Pogue, so she definitely has two sides to her.
Kiara Carrera: Taurus
Kiara Carrera is a Taurus. She’s practical, reliable, and down-to-earth, just like many other Tauruses. She’s often the voice of reason for The Pogues, and she’s always there to help out her friends. Kiara is a loyal friend and she has a strong sense of duty. We saw this when she stood up to her parents and chose her friends, following The Pogues to find the gold.
Taureans are known to be straightforward and easygoing, which is fitting for Kiara. She was born into the Kook world. However, due to her down-to-earth and grounded nature, she is more of a Pogue and prefers the chilled surfing life style. The typical Taurus is also known for being stubborn, and Kiara definitely has her moments of refusing to budge. She’s always been very protective of the group, especially when it comes to John B. Kiara didn’t want Sarah coming in to The Pogues group and taking John B.’s attention from her.
JJ Maybank: Aries
JJ Maybank is an Aries. He’s bold, outgoing, and confident, just like many other Aries people. He loves taking risks, and he’s always up for an adventure. And, like a typical Aries, JJ can also be impulsive and hotheaded. He isn’t afraid to take risks, and he enjoys being the center of attention. We saw this when he stole money from a drug dealer and bought a hot tub for him and his friends.
JJ is also the most energetic one of The Pogues, and he’s always ready to take on whatever comes his way. Aries are known for their determination, and JJ certainly has plenty of that. He never gives up on their dream of finding the gold or on his friends, no matter what. He’s the perfect Aries, and he definitely adds some much-needed excitement to The Pogues.
Pope Heyward: Capricorn
Pope Heyward is a Capricorn. He’s ambitious, determined, and driven, just like many other Capricorns. He often takes on extra work to help his family out financially, and he also has a lot of dreams for the future. Pope is also very responsible and hardworking. He is the smart one out of The Pogues and is often the one coming up with the clever ideas to help them find the gold.
Capricorns are usually quite reserved and don’t share their feelings very often, which we see with Pope. He is the more introverted one of The Pogues, and he is the cautious voice of reason in the group. He’s always up for an adventure, but his risk-aversion means he’s aware of the consequences and isn’t afraid to warn the group.
Cleo: Aries
Cleo is a typical Aries. She is a bold and energetic character who brings and exciting and positive vibe wherever she goes. There’s never a dull moment when an Aries is around, and they seek adventure wherever they go, which accurately describes Cleo. She is confident, charming and observant. She has a fearless nature, always getting stuck in. Originally she tried to steal the gold from The Pogues, but then she helped them get the cross.
Cleo becomes an essential member of The Pogues, often coming up with solutions that no one has thought of before. She always manages to make things go her way, though not everything goes according to plan. That is the Aries in her. Even though Cleo can get herself into trouble, she’s always there for The Pogues when they need her most. This is a perfect example of an Aries: confident, courageous, independent and loyal.
Topper Thornton: Scorpio
Topper Thornton is a Scorpio. He comes into his own in Season 2 and his healthier Scorpio traits shine through. He is future oriented and focused on one thing, ending up with Sarah Cameron. He is playing the long game with Sarah and focusing on the bigger picture of how to win her back over time, like a Scorpio would. When it comes to relationships, Scorpios don’t shy away from a challenge and will be prepared to put in the effort to work things out for the right person, which is exactly what Topper is doing with Sarah.
Scorpios are often very sensitive and intuitive, which is seen in Topper. He often notices things before the others do and is able to pick up on changes in people’s behavior or moods. He rescues Sarah from her brother and notices Rafe going off the rails. Even though he’s a Kook, he is still a reliable friend to Sarah. Topper provides the support that she needs to get through her family issues, showing his Scorpio loyalty. He also stands up for himself, which shows his Scorpio courage.
Rafe Cameron: Aries
Rafe Cameron is an unhealthy Aries. His typical Aries weaknesses are shown through his impulsive and insensitive behavior. Rafe shot a sheriff, bought a motorbike instead of paying his drug dealer and tried to strangle his sister, all unhealthy examples of his a toxic Aries zodiac sign. Rafe has a strong desire to carry on the family name when his father dies. However, his cocaine addiction holds him back and fuels his unhealthy personality traits.
Narcissism and recklessness are another two typical Aries weaknesses that Rafe exhibits, and it’s clear that he needs to learn how to control his anger. He is entitled and believes he deserves the riches his Dad has. Rafe has a long way to go on his journey of self-improvement. He is not the best role model of an Aries. However, he does show us what not to do. Rafe can be seen as a cautionary tale for an Aries who has gone the wrong way.
Ward Cameron: Scorpio
Ward Cameron is a Scorpio with many toxic traits of this zodiac sign. He projects an air of confidence and authority that makes people want to listen and follow him, just like an Scorpio. Ward Cameron can be so focused that he disregards the people aspect of situations. Scorpios are often ruthless in their quest of what they want, and Ward takes that to the extreme with his quest for gold. He hurt and murdered anyone that got in his way, even turning on his own family members.
Scorpios are ambitious and persistent, which is seen in Ward’s never-ending pursuit of treasure. He not only wants money but power and recognition as well. Ward is often seen scheming and making plans to get what he wants, another typical Scorpio trait. Even though his methods are wrong, you can’t deny the boldness of a Scorpio.
Big John Routledge: Aquarius
Big John is a difficult character to work out as we haven’t seen much of him…YET! We believe Big John to be an Aquarius. Aquarians are complex intellectuals who love nothing more than digging into concepts and seeking truths. This feels like Big John trying to find the treasure and the truth behind what happened to it.
Aquarians don’t follow the rules. They are independent and sometimes rebellious. They like to question authority and are often seen as pioneers in their field of work, which could be the case for Big John. We’re looking forward to seeing how this character develops in Season 3 of OBX.
